Aroona Valley Northern Flinders Ranges SA is one of my favourite campsites. Dawn was breaking over the ridge to my left lighting up the Heysen Range. The ruins in the foreground are all that remains of the Aroona homestead where famed Australian landscape painter, Hans Heysen, was a regular visitor last century.
